Covid 19 update
We have been waiting for Government announcements until deciding to reopen.
Working from home is being encouraged by the government, if companies are still able to do so. There is no support for us as it currently stands.
We run the company as joint directors, and support is only in place for employees of companies and for the self employed. None of these cover director only companies. This has left us with no choice but to carry on working the best we can - this is our only income to support us and our 4 children.
While this is still happening, there will be no pre orders. We will however be making stock throughout the week which will be uploaded to our available now section.
We cannot take pre orders as some ingredients may prove difficult to get hold of, which would lead to cancelled orders. We will however try to make as many of our most popular products as we can.
We work from home with no other staff and as you may be aware, delivery companies are now leaving orders on doorsteps so no contact is made.
We order most of our ingredients in bulk from wholesalers who use non contact deliveries.
Our plan is to make products throughout the week, and upload them to the website at the weekend. We will box the orders up and take them to the post office ONCE a week on Mondays, rather than daily. We have a drop and go account with our local post office, which means we can literally take the parcels and leave them, with no need to come into contact with the staff. There will be no option to collect orders at this time.
As our post office is located in a convenience store, we will obviously adhere to the 2m social distancing. We will also use this time to stock up on any personal shopping we may need, to avoid any more trips out than we need to.
*UPDATE* We now have a collection account with DPD. Collections are made using no contact and adhering to social distancing. We now have good stock levels and daily collections so we can now offer pre orders again. Any items that need to go via Royal Mail will still leave once a week.
As a 5 star hygiene registered business, cleanliness standards are already high, but we are now being even more thorough, if thats possible!
To summarise, the changes we have made in compliance with government guidelines are:
- No orders to be collected.
- Post office drop off only once a week rather than daily.
- Available now products only, to avoid having to go out to source any ingredients we don't have in stock.
- Non contact deliveries.
We hope you understand our decision to carry on, and we look forward to providing you with yummy treats during this difficult time.
